Samaldas Gandhi
Samaldas Gandhi was an Indian freedom fighter who headed the Aarzi Hukumat or Temporary Government of the erstwhile princely state of Junagadh.
Early life
Samaldas was the son of Laxmidas Karamchand Gandhi, younger brother of Mohandas Gandhi, the leader of the Indian independence movement. Samaldas was a close follower of his uncle, Mohandas.
Integration of Junagadh into India
When the Nawab of Junagadh acceded his state to Pakistan in 1947, Samaldas headed a government-in-exile created by citizens of Junagadh to reflect the wishes of its majority population who wished the state to become part of India instead.
When Indian forces entered Junagadh and its principalities, Mangrol and Manavadar, at the invitation of the Nawab's dewan, Sir Shah Nawaz Bhutto, Samaldas was invited to accept the reins of the state but deferred to the Government of India.
Commemoration
Samaldas Gandhi is widely remembered in Junagadh and the state of Gujarat today as a hero and patriot. There are several schools, public foundations and hospitals named after him.

After Pakistan and India both gained independence from the British, there was still the question of the Princely States. Junagadh was a massive prize, but it was a reverse Kashmir. The Home Minister Vallahbhai Patel ensured that it joined India even though its Nawab meant for it to join Pakistan.

Princess Street is a road and a neighbourhood which stretches along this road in south Mumbai, India. The official name of this road is Samaldas Gandhi Marg, named after the Indian freedom fighter who had led the Arzi Hukumat (Temporary Government) of the erstwhile princely state of Junagadh in 1947.[1] The road links the Marine Drive flyover with Crawford Market, and is known for its shops selling chemicals, medicines and medical equipment.[2] It serves the busy Marine Lines railway station as well as the adjoining localities of Thakurdwar and Bhuleshwar to its north and Dhobitalao to its south

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was an Indian political ethicist was born on 2 October 1869.
His father Karamchand Uttamchand Gandhi was a political figure in Porbandar. His mother Putlibai Gandhi was a home maker. Gandhi Had 2 Brothers Laxmidas Karamchand Gandhi and Karsandas Gandhi. He has 3 Sisters, Raliatbehn Gandhi, Muliben Gandhi & Pankunvarben Gandhi.
he married Putlibai in 1844, who also came from Junagadh, and was from a Pranami Vaishnava family. In May 1883, the 13-year-old Mohandas was married to 14 year old Kasturbai Makhanji Kapadia.
Mahatma Gandhi had 4 sons, Harilal Gandhi, Ramdas Gandhi, Devdas Gandhi and Manilal Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi & Kasturba Gandhi adopted 2 girl. Daughter Laxmi & Madeleine Slade AKA Mirabehn.
Arun Gandhi, Shanti Gandhi, Gopalkrishna Gandhi, Rajmohan Gandhi, Ramchandra Gandhi and Rasiklal Gandhi all are Mahatma Gandhi's Grandson. Ela Gandhi, Sita Gandhi, Sumitra Gandhi & Rami Parikh all are Mahatma Gandhi's Granddaughter.
Tushar Gandhi & Devadatta Gandhi are his Great-Grandson. Leela Gandhi & Anita Gandhi are his Great-Granddaughter. Samaldas Gandhi is the nephew of Mahatma Gandhi.

Samaldas Gandhi
Samaldas Gandhi was an Indian freedom fighter who headed the Aarzi Hukumat or Temporary Government of the erstwhile princely state of Junagadh.
Early life
Samaldas was the son of Laxmidas Karamchand Gandhi, younger brother of Mohandas Gandhi, the leader of the Indian independence movement. Samaldas was a close follower of his uncle, Mohandas.
Integration of Junagadh into India
When the Nawab of Junagadh acceded his state to Pakistan in 1947, Samaldas headed a government-in-exile created by citizens of Junagadh to reflect the wishes of its majority population who wished the state to become part of India instead.
When Indian forces entered Junagadh and its principalities, Mangrol and Manavadar, at the invitation of the Nawab's dewan, Sir Shah Nawaz Bhutto, Samaldas was invited to accept the reins of the state but deferred to the Government of India.
Commemoration
Samaldas Gandhi is widely remembered in Junagadh and the state of Gujarat today as a hero and patriot. There are several schools, public foundations and hospitals named after him.
